A bit about me:

I'm Xavi Tous, a campaigner of the olympic sailing Laser class since I finished my civil engineering degree in 2013. Up until now it sounds like the typical story, but it is actually quite unusual.

I took the difficult decision to quit sailing, the week after finishing second in the 2005 Laser Radial Spanish Championship. I was determined to commit to my civil engineering degree, as I wanted to be an outstanding student as I had been at school.

I quickly found that I coudn't live without sailing, so I suddenly found myself studying one of the most difficult degrees in Spain, and sailing at a world class level at the same time.

I graduated with honours, at the same time as winning the 2007 Laser Radial Spanish Cup.  I began to rise the international ranks, finishing second in the Iberdrola Eurolaser Cup, which is part of the Europa Cup Circuit.  I also managed to complete this circuit of regatas throughout Europe, and became 8th in the 2011 Laser Radial Europa Cup overall.

I’ve participated in 6 european championships, and 3 world championships, so now I want to stand-out at an international level. I'm determined to participate in the Olympic Games and have an important role in them.

When i do get some free time away from training, I enjoy all things sporty:  bodypump, padel, and table-tennis.
